Before I met Jill my holidays were what might be called unadventurous - I used to enjoy the odd walking weekend with friends, we explored Snowdonia, the Lakes and North Yorkshire, but apart from those excursions I tended to just go down the pub. Jill actually named my sphere of travel as the "Bridgnorth Triangle" - an area bounded by the Bear, the Bell and Talbot and the Railway! Jill dragged me out of the "triangle" and into the wider world - our first adventure was to Southern Ireland, a place that I had always intended to visit but hadn't..... - we have been there three times so far - the combination of scenery, people, music and guinness is irresistable - must go to Donegal next.... When Sally was working for T..... we took advantage of her discounts for trips to Crete and Fuerteventura, but apart from these overseas excursions we have taken all our holidays in these islands and have thoroughly enjoyed each one. The one exception was when we went to Mexico for Jenny's wedding in 2004 - that was quite a journey, two flights out and three back! We had a great time when we were there and hope to go back next year (2006). We are looking forward to exploring more of the UK and Eire - so much so that I have considered changing the RX7 for something more "practical" - pity they don't make a camper with a wankel engine! Use the links on the left to see some of the places we have visited - apologies in advance for some of the "holiday snap" poses........ |
