I live with Jill, my partner since 1995. Jill works for a national housebuilder, selling the houses and dealing with all the complaints (complaints? Surely not!) so when she gets home she likes to de-stress in the garden - the garden is Jill's pride and joy, when we met it wasn't much to talk about but over the years we have laboured (Jill has the ideas - I do the labouring!) to make it a relaxing and enjoyable place to spend time in.
Another of Jill's passions is history, especially old houses, castles, churches etc. (and Elizabeth I), we are members of the National Trust and English Heritage, so wherever we travel we (Jill) are looking for somewhere to visit. One of our favourite pastimes is driving round the lanes of Shropshire discovering new places - it is a beautiful county and there is a wealth of historical places just on our own doorstep.
Jill is very proud of our house, she has a rolling programme of refurbishment which seems to reach far into the future - the current project is giving Carolyn's old bedroom a makeover.... did I mention children?
We both have two children from previous relationships, who have lived with us at different times during the past ten years - they all get on very well together (still!) and we are very pleased with our expanding family - especially now that they have all left to start their own homes!
Sally, Jill's daughter is the eldest - I won't say how old for fear of her wrath....... Sally spent her early years travelling the world doing a variety of jobs, working as a rep for a travel company beginning with "T", and teaching English to the locals in Europe, China, Vietnam, Thailand and Japan.
The tough life of a Thomson rep.. Ankor what? Bridgnorth quayside Sally and Duncan in a typical location Sally is still doing what she loves, teaching Basic Skills in a F.E. college. She has set up home with her partner, Duncan, near to Shrewsbury, and they are both looking forward to an addition to their family in the Autumn - watch this space for more details.....
Next is Jill's son Richard, he lives in Bridgnorth with his partner Michelle and their daughter Ellie, who is now two years old. Jill looks after Ellie one day a week while Michelle is at work and thoroughly enjoys being bossed about by her!
Richard and Michelle. Richard has his own company installing fireplaces, stoves etc. so if you want any jobs doing in that line get in touch!
Jenny is my eldest, she has always been interested in languages and travel - she went to South America on holiday in 2002 and didn't come back! She was offered a job in Cancún, Mexico, working in a hotel entertaining the guests, and decided that was what she wanted. She fell in love with Sajid who she was working with, and last November (2004) they were married. We all went out for the wedding - on the beach, very romantic - and had a wonderful time, we are looking forward to our next trip over there.

Jenny and Sajid have a house near Puerto Morelos, just south of Cancún, Jenny has just started a new job as entertainments manager in a brand new complex, the le blanc spa resort which looks an amazing place - we all hope that she succeeds in the new job.
Carolyn, my youngest daughter was the last to leave - she and her partner Steve have recently moved into an apartment close to where Sally and Duncan are living, so they shouldn't be short of a social life! They are still "building the nest" so Ikea's profits are still safe for some time....
Caz and Steve, Cancun 2004 Carolyn works at a nursery in Bridgnorth, so she is finding out what it is like to be a commuter - she is also learning some car maintenace skills!
It does seem very quiet without the kids, just the two of us in this big old house, but it doesn't last for long, they "pop in" all the time and stay over when they go out with their Bridgnorth friends, so they are still here but "spread more thinly"!
